Glad you enjoyed these KM!
I’d been meaning to alert folks to the reasons John and I chose to release these particular “classics” at this time.
We chose the Carol Lynn Pearson one in support of the coming magazine issue which contains an article, “Irreconcilable Differences,” by Carol Lynn’s daughter, Emily, dealing with Emily’s story of her relationship with her gay father and his death, along with her own marriage to a gay man, Steven Fales, and her thoughts regarding LDS teachings and homosexuality.
We released the discussion of whether the Book of Mormon is an anti-Masonic text in support of an another article in the coming issue, “‘The Grand Fundamental Principles of Mormonism’: Joseph Smith’s Unfinished Reformation,” by Don Bradley, which is a fascinating look at a little-understood 1843 attempt by JS to organize Mormonism around three Masonic principles of “truth, friendship, and relief.” Many of us have seen Mormonism and Masonry intersections dealt with before, but this article comes at it from quite a unique perspective.
By the way, both Emily and Don have agreed to do podcast interviews with me. We’ll be doing those and releasing them through SunstonePodcast sometime in early June. We hope you’ll watch for them.
Cheers,
Dan
