States of Grace Re-Opening in Utah/Opening in Vegas and Arizona

A note from Emily Pearson, one of the producers of States of Grace. This film is worth supporting. I plan to see it again (it will be the fourth time) this weekend.

Cheers,

Dan

  1. I really wish that Mormon film makers would venture outside of the west in screening their work. There are others, like me, who live outside of the Mountain west who would support even limited screenings if they only came to where we were. The first installment in “The Work and the Glory” recieved a limited billing, but the large theatre in the local cinaplex complex was pretty much sold out during the times that it was shown.

I guess that, along with others who want to support Mormon filmakers, we will have to wait unti these films make their way to video, and then find their way to our local video store.

Rest assured, when “States of Grace” comes to Atlanta, this one patron of Mormon cinema who will be watching.

  2. Mormon movies are entering the motion picture market at the same time that movie goers are being drawn away from the movies by xbox, home videos and DVR’s.
I feel another reason that fewer people are going to the movies is that the quality of the motion pictures has taken a serious downturn.
I believe one day we will be able to pay $10.00 and download a movie (any movie) from the internet. Unfortunately this is not going to happen soon and until then mormon movies and regular movies are going to have a very difficult time beating the theatre and Hollywook system.
Movie producers will be deprived of a venue for their products and movie watchers will be deprived of the ability to see many movies.
